The Young Adults Ministry

Launching the Young Adults Ministry (YAM)

Beloved in Christ,

I am excited to announce the formation of a new ministry in our parish dedicated to young adults—those who have completed school and are now working or attending college, ages 18 to 35. This includes newly married couples whose children have not yet reached Sunday School age. When their children join Sunday School, these couples will naturally transition into our Men’s Ministry and Antiochian Women’s Ministry.

The Young Adults Ministry will fill an important gap in our church’s outreach. It will support:

  • Young adults away from home—those who have moved for college or work and may face homesickness, loneliness, or even depression—by keeping them connected with their peers and faith community.
  • Young adults in town or returning home—providing a space for deeper connection with the Orthodox Christian faith and with one another, fostering spiritual growth and fellowship.

Key Features of YAM:

  • College Connection: Through the Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF), offering access to over 270 chapters and numerous national programs.
  • Local Gatherings: Meetings and events will be scheduled as needed, with frequency determined by an elected board.
  • Spiritual & Social Focus: Each gathering will include a spiritual component led by the Pastor or a guest speaker, along with social activities for fellowship and fun.
  • Communication: A dedicated WhatsApp group has been created for updates and announcements.

If you are interested in joining or learning more, please contact Sub-Deacon Atallah (Kevin) Tarazi at (858) 210-1576. For ideas or concerns, reach out to me at (602) 684-0807.

We believe this ministry will offer a meaningful opportunity for young adults to grow in faith and build lasting relationships. We look forward to seeing you at upcoming gatherings or on our WhatsApp and Instagram channels.

In Christ,
Rev. Fr. Mansour Azar, Pastor
